About the Role

The Senior Director of Public Policy will support our organization's boards of directors, executive management, and agency management in developing and executing strategic government relations on local, regional, state, and federal levels. You'll monitor and evaluate proposed and enacted policies, legislation, and regulations, and work with our team to develop strategies for influencing and participating in making or blocking regulations and laws. You'll also partner with county, state, and provider associations and advocacy groups to support public policy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement public policy agendas and strategies for advocating those agendas
* Support improvements in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (DEIA) within the organization
* Collaborate with executive management and the boards of directors to establish public policy, advocacy, and DEIA strategies
* Identify and evaluate proposed and enacted laws, regulations, and policies in collaboration with organizational leadership and recommend strategies
* Coordinate advocacy efforts, including collaboration with industry organizations, advocacy groups, and community-based organizations

Requirements

* Juris Doctor or graduate degree in public policy, social science, or related field
* 4-5 years of experience in public policy and advocacy in behavioral health or other human and social services
* Significant professional experience in public policy advocacy, public policy research and analysis, DEIA, and coalition building
* Experience interfacing with governments, elected officials, provider associations, and advocacy groups
* Experience in community relations, strategic planning, and business development, and work with non-profit governing boards
