Overview
Tufts Medical Center seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in surgical counts, manage intraoperative medications, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and physiology to provide optimal patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure patient satisfaction and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical technology certification (CST) preferred.
- 12 months to less than 3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood, and bodily fluids.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
