The Surgical Technologist II is a skilled and experienced professional who plays a critical role in the Operating Room team at Tufts Medical Center. This position requires a high level of expertise, excellent critical thinking skills, and a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Operating Room environment, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.
- Participate in the setup and draping of patients, as well as the handling and processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure accurate and timely completion of procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient care and support, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical technologies and procedures, and contribute to the development of new skills and knowledge within the team.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or training through a branch of the United States Armed Forces.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical Technologist (ST).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care and support.
The Surgical Technologist II will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood and bodily fluids, and extreme noise levels. The ability to remain in a standing position for long periods of time and to wear a protective lead apron for extended periods is also required.
