Surgical Technologist II

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, including setting up and cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including surgical counts and instrument inventory.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
The Surgical Technologist II will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, with frequent exposure to blood and bodily fluids, as well as potential exposure to infectious diseases. The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow infection control protocols is essential.
