Job Overview

We are looking for skilled professionals to fill the role of a Land Surveying Crew Leader at LaBella Associates. Our firm promotes a collaborative work environment and prioritizes exceptional client service.

As a Crew Leader, you will oversee survey operations that encompass topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys, construction staking, terrestrial LiDAR, UAV/drone applications, and structural monitoring in support of various civil engineering, architectural, and environmental initiatives.

You will operate under the guidance of Licensed Professional Surveyors.


Our organization offers a unique opportunity to engage in a variety of surveying tasks across multiple disciplines, including land surveying, civil engineering, architecture, and environmental projects.

This position is full-time and entails both fieldwork and office duties, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/ASCM land title, construction staking, terrestrial LiDAR, and UAV/drone surveys.

It is a professional role that allows for the potential to achieve a Professional Surveying License.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with project teams and clients to clarify project objectives, challenges, timelines, budgets, and expectations.

- Adhere to established safety protocols for Land Surveying.

- Cultivate client relationships.


- Utilize advanced surveying technology, including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAVs, high-definition scanners, and data collection devices.

- Lead the field team to meet client and project goals.

- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior field personnel.

Qualifications


- A minimum of five years of experience as a Survey Crew Member/Chief, with the capability to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) and pursue licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).

- Previous experience as a crew chief is essential.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Familiarity with the Trimble suite of surveying equipment is advantageous.

- Knowledge of ACAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and Inroads software is beneficial.

- Ability to interpret design and construction documents.

- Self-motivated and proactive, with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Maintain a valid driver's license in good standing and be capable of operating company vehicles.

- Willingness to work overtime as required.
