Position Overview

LaBella Associates is in search of a qualified individual to fill the role of Land Surveying Operations Manager. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing all surveying functions for various projects while ensuring exceptional client service and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise local surveying personnel, focusing on their training and professional development.
  • Oversee a diverse range of surveying and multi-disciplinary projects, managing timelines, budgets, project teams, and client relationships.
  • Act as the representative for the surveying division in multi-discipline project collaborations.
  • Ensure quality assurance, quality control, and certification of all surveying outputs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the designated area.
  • Actively seek and nurture new client relationships.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance surveying services and collaborate with senior management to implement these initiatives.
  • Work alongside other departments to discover opportunities for integrating surveying services.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals for surveying projects in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Engage in corporate strategic planning activities.
  • Conduct needs assessments and provide recommendations for adopting new technologies.
  • Ensure the upkeep of existing technological resources.
  • Manage the organization of survey records.
  • Review and approve staff time submissions.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Participate in recruitment and talent acquisition efforts.
  • Review and submit monthly billing for projects.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 annually

The specific salary offered will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, educational background, and work location.

Qualifications

  • AAS or BS degree in a relevant technical field such as land surveying, engineering, geology, forestry, or landscape architecture.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role demonstrating management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in business development.
  • Licensure in Land Surveying; multi-state licensure is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced surveying systems, technologies, and analytical methods.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D and advanced GPS post-processing software.
  • Familiarity with terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone surveying techniques.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver's license in good standing and the ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to drive a passenger vehicle.
  • Proficient in using a computer and keyboard.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain or confined spaces safely.
