Job Summary

As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating surveys and investigations of land surfaces, preparing topographic maps, boundary adjustments, subdivision maps, records of survey, and legal descriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate surveys and investigations of land surfaces and prepare topographic maps, boundary adjustments, subdivision maps, records of survey, and legal descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements, including boundary calculations and legal ownership issues.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Act as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of land surveying.
  • Relies on experience, knowledge, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a highly professional manner.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks relating to boundary and topographic surveying and mapping.
  • Lead and direct field survey crews and survey technicians.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in land surveying, subdivision mapping, topographic mapping, and writing legal descriptions.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Carlson Survey and GPS equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Tennessee Registered Professional Land Surveyor required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM on Friday.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow, and complete tasks.
  • Highly client-service oriented, self-starter, and team player.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent time management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an environment that may contain venomous snakes and insects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures.
  • Ability to climb hills and walk long distances.
  • Ability to traverse different types of terrain.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to interact both verbally and in writing.
