Job Summary:

The Residential RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and mental health needs are met. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess the physical and mental health of residents, identifying and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Implement medical procedures and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to address healthcare concerns and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide emergency first aid and notify physicians of any acute illnesses or emergencies.
  • Arrange clinic appointments and medical referrals, ensuring timely completion of medical charts and immunization records.
  • Support living unit staff and actively participate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training and updates.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nursing Degree from a recognized accredited school of nursing.
  • Current registration and licensure in NY State as an RN.
  • Ability to relate well to children and other staff members.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License and continued automobile insurance.
  • Ability to deescalate and manage difficult behaviors of children.
