Job Summary:

We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an RN Service Overnight Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare services to individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in community-based homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of preventive and routine healthcare services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Provide preventative, routine, and emergency healthcare services as needed.
  • Adhere to and ensure facility compliance with all physician orders.
  • Accompany individuals on appointments as assigned.
  • Administer medications in the facility.
  • Complete monthly breast exams on female individuals as scheduled.
  • Provide health service training to staff.
  • Participate in agency training as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and agency policies.
  • Communicate effectively with RN Clinical Coordinator, Senior Residential Supervisor, Residential Director, and other staff as necessary.
  • Assist in completing daily logs, pertinent forms, and documentation.
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities as needed.
  • Complete assigned tasks through shift responsibility sheets to ensure the health and safety of individuals.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and laundry as assigned.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, semiannual and annual reviews, and house staff meetings as required.
  • Attend all agency-mandated in-service training sessions in a timely manner.
  • Attend site-specific trainings as mandated by the RN Clinical Coordinator and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Meet pre-scheduled on-call commitments as determined by the RN Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Director.
  • Perform CPR and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R).
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • NYS Driver's License that meets agency policy.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention Core Training certification.
