Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard to join our team at Salvation Army Tucson. As an Aquatic Program Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals participating in our Red Shields Aquatics Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility and respond promptly to emergency situations.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of medical services.
  • Implement aquatic program activities to meet the needs and interests of participants.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of all pool areas and ensure all pool doors and dressing rooms are secured at the conclusion of activities.
  • Coordinate and conduct program activities such as general swim, swim lessons, swim team, family swim, Jr. Lifeguard program, water aerobics, and water polo.
  • Report all accidents and facility safety concerns to the Program Director/Assistant Program Director.
  • Maintain safety and proper conduct of all members by being aware of potential dangers and correcting behavior.
Requirements
  • Lifeguard Certificate, WSI card, and First aid and CPR certification.
  • AED Training Certificate.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
  • Criminal background check with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures (if working with children).
Working Conditions

The ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. The ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
