Your Role:

The Culinary Services Associate, Part-Time, Community Corrections is responsible for high-volume food preparation of moderate complexity and may lead residents in food production tasks. Adhering to proper food handling protocols is essential to ensure compliance with established processes, food preparation techniques, and sanitary standards. This position typically involves working less than 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in and/or supervise resident workers in meal preparation and special dietary needs, following standard menus and recipes approved by a registered dietitian.
  • Assist and/or oversee residents in maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and equipment, preparing large volume meals, and managing the receipt and storage of supplies.
  • Support and/or direct the serving of meals according to the feeding schedule, ensuring compliance with standards such as portion control, temperature, and proper serving techniques.
  • Conduct inspections of kitchen equipment and work areas, including storerooms, pantries, service, and dining areas, to ensure adherence to health, sanitation, and safety regulations; report inspection results as necessary.
  • Assist in inventory management and the ordering and receipt of food and preparation supplies.
  • Maintain various routine records and prepare standard reports, including food inventories, meal counts, work schedules, production logs, temperature records, and resident disciplinary reports; ensure timely processing of all reports and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED certification, or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in food service and a solid understanding of volume food service operations, including safety and sanitation, is preferred.
  • Must comply with all state and local food handling regulations.
  • Availability to work any hours and shifts is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
