Position Summary

We are in search of a motivated and adaptable individual to become part of our investment team as an Analyst. This position provides the chance to work closely with experienced investment professionals in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting that values teamwork and a non-hierarchical structure.

As an Analyst at BIP Ventures, you will engage in various facets of the investment process, including underwriting, due diligence, and creating insightful reports while providing support for transaction and valuation modeling. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in managing our portfolio, which includes cap table oversight, financial modeling, and formulating investment return projections.

Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are indicative of your role, though not exhaustive. You will participate in diverse tasks that support our investment and portfolio management initiatives:

  • Oversee Portfolio Management: Manage ongoing portfolio projects, including cap table analysis, forecasting future capital requirements, tracking KPIs, and performing investment return evaluations.
  • Conduct In-Depth Financial Analyses: Apply your financial expertise to develop revenue forecasts and scenario analyses that guide strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate Potential Investments: Assess prospective investments, manage deal flows, and construct well-reasoned investment theses.
  • Prepare Due Diligence Documentation: Create comprehensive due diligence reports for potential investments, clearly articulating support for underwriting assumptions and assisting the Deal Lead during Investment Committee discussions.
  • Support Portfolio Reporting: Contribute to our portfolio reporting efforts, ensuring precise and insightful updates for stakeholders and investors; manage internal reporting systems and learn to assess the risk/reward balance of investment opportunities.
  • Manage Competing Priorities: Navigate competing tasks with a strong execution focus to meet essential deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with experience in investment evaluation, due diligence, market analysis, and competitive insights, possessing strong analytical capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative attitude, and a willingness to embrace challenges while contributing to a team that strives to push the limits of possibility.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in transaction due diligence, growth strategy consulting (market research), or private, buy-side investing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts and business implications to varied audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in financial modeling is a significant advantage.
