Job Title: Children's Residential Center Therapist - Team Lead

Job Summary:

The Children's Residential Center Therapist - Team Lead provides individual and group therapy, as well as crisis counseling, to clients on their caseload. They function as a team leader within their assigned cottage, overseeing therapeutic services and guiding clients through the treatment program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Collaborate with the Cottage Supervisor to create and maintain a healthy culture in the cottage, where staff are supported and empowered to provide a healthy balance of structure and nurture.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide individual and group therapy, as well as crisis counseling, to clients on their caseload.
  • Case Management: Facilitate case management by designing, writing, and coordinating individualized treatment plans (ITP) for each client.
  • Documentation: Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork, including progress notes, step-down/extension/discharge recommendations, and discharge/transfer summaries.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with psychiatric and psychological services, as well as other departments, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to cottage staff on the needs of clients and facilitate debriefing and processing incidents occurring with residents.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues, verbally and in writing, to ensure safety and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's Degree in social work or counseling strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Four to ten years of related experience, with a strong preference for experience in a children's residential treatment facility.
  • Licensure: License in social work (LSW) or counseling (LPC) required, with independent licensure (LISW, LPCC) preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear, including a requirement to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Environmental Factors: Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time.
