Shields Health Care Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Operations Manager to oversee purchasing activities across our network of Ambulatory Surgical Centers. This full-time role will involve collaboration with various facilities to ensure optimal procurement processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Lead and manage the purchasing department, ensuring accountability for costs, quality, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  2. Evaluate and negotiate major procurement contracts, focusing on sources, pricing, and terms to achieve cost efficiency and risk mitigation.
  3. Identify alternative materials and innovative sourcing strategies to meet operational needs.
  4. Establish effective inventory management processes across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
  5. Develop and manage departmental budgets and purchasing forecasts to align with organizational goals.
  6. Facilitate the expansion of company operations by ensuring that procurement processes are established for new facilities.
  7. Supervise and mentor the purchasing team to enhance performance and productivity.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

A Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline is preferred, or a post-secondary certification combined with relevant experience. A minimum of 5 years in purchasing or materials management, ideally within a multi-site organization, is required. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and automated purchasing systems, is essential. Strong customer service orientation, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, are necessary for success in this role.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Proven experience in supporting operations across multiple locations.
  2. Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve operational processes, develop policies, and implement new strategies.
  3. Experience with system implementations or automated purchasing systems.
  4. In-depth understanding of material cost drivers impacting financial performance.
  5. Familiarity with inventory management practices, including physical inventory and cycle counting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods and perform data entry tasks efficiently.

INTERACTIONS:

This position necessitates extensive collaboration with employees at Shields Health Care Group, as well as vendors and community stakeholders.
