Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Writer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Grant Writer, you will play a critical role in assisting our Client Managers and engineers in researching and writing grant proposals to secure funding for our clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research on funding opportunities and summarize details to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal staff, clients, and external program contacts to stay informed about funding opportunities and program requirements.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, including writing narratives, completing forms, and coordinating application components with clients and internal teams.
  • Communicate application requirements to teams and coordinate the compilation of complete and competitive grant applications.
  • Perform site visits as needed to gather project information and support grant applications.
  • Meet productivity and profitability standards while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of grant applications.
  • Responsible for quality control and quality assurance processes for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, consultants, government agencies, and involved communities to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, support team members, and build a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and verbal instructions.
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge, and acumen, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to travel regularly.
  • Grant writing experience with local governments and in the civil engineering field is preferred.
  • Experience with funding programs such as FHWA, FEMA, HUD CDBG, EPABrownfields, USDA, and EPA Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds is preferred.
