Job Summary

We are seeking a Crisis Intervention Clinician to join our team at Brown University Health. This is a part-time position that requires providing comprehensive clinical services to children, adolescents, and families in crisis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency triage evaluation brief treatment, and clinical referrals to children, adolescents, and families through the Brown University Health Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Services Department.
  • Conduct clinical assessments across Brown University Health emergency service sites, including Bradley Access, Hasbro emergency department, and Gateway community sites.
  • Consult with Gateway intake and Bradley patient registration staff as needed around the scheduling of patients for community evaluations.
  • Manage the disposition of cases seen through the KidsLink emergency service.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Brown University Health PBHES Team.
  • Manage crisis intervention with patients and families awaiting inpatient admissions or assessed as a candidate for intensive outpatient care as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.
  • Complete all required documentation in a professional and timely manner as assigned.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment interventions, and recommendations as relevant.
  • Clinical case management as required to coordinate and collaborate in care with both the multidisciplinary team and community supports (schools therapists physicians, etc.) for assessment communication and aftercare planning.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in any human services field, such as social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology from an accredited graduate school.
  • Current independent license from State of Rhode Island required (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
  • Significant experience and/or training work with children, adolescents, and families.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
