Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a full-time Patient Service Representative for our internal medicine office. The representative will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including:

  • Answering incoming calls and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments.
  • Welcoming patients upon arrival and facilitating check-in procedures.
  • Collecting co-payments and verifying insurance details.
  • Registering patients into our system and ensuring accurate check-out processes.
  • Coordinating follow-up visits as necessary.
  • Balancing financial transactions and verifying orders at the end of the day.

This role requires a proactive and positive demeanor, as the Patient Service Representative is often the first point of contact for patients. It is crucial to maintain a friendly and professional office atmosphere at all times.


Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will possess formal training, typically indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of experience in a public-facing role, ideally within a healthcare environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of various health insurance plans, including HMO and PPO.
  • Ability to identify priority or emergency calls.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in handling difficult situations.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in a Windows-based computer system.
