Medical Records Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional support to our clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and assemble medical records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Organize and analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
- Enter practitioner deficiencies into Medhost and track progress.
- Pull charts for audits, peer review, readmissions, and other purposes as requested.
- Ensure files are stored in designated areas and maintain chart control, access, and storage in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Process medical records requests and scan records to contract coders for processing when applicable.
- Assist with HIM department audits, including HBIPS, CMS Quality Measures, and concurrent reviews.
- Pick up discharge records from patient units and assemble new admission folders as needed.
- Print and deliver medical records forms to patient units and search and print dictated reports from computerized transcription systems.
- Purge and inventory medical records for off-site storage and promote quality improvement, staff and patient safety, and cultural diversity through department operations and personal performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Three or more years' experience in a psychiatric setting or combination of education and experience necessary.
- RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Advanced attention to detail.
