Job Title: Senior Audio-Visual Installation Technician

At Diversified, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Audio-Visual Installation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of installation duties on technology projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project management, field superintendents, and other stakeholders to fully understand project requirements.
  • Interpret drawing packages to create the basis of finished systems, including displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, and more.
  • Lead and delegate tasks to install crews, subcontractors, and union trades, and may be required to regularly lead a team on large projects.
  • Verify all work complies with Diversified's and clients' quality control standards, and oversee field operations in situations without a dedicated on-site superintendent.
  • Perform physical installation of a wide variety of technology into a wide variety of locations.
  • Execute a variety of cabling terminations for wire and connector types, and verify crew terminations to our standards.
  • Support the preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment, including wire lacing, power strips, grounding bars, and jack-fields.
  • Read and understand functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams.
  • Mount base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
  • Provide a consistent level of technical performance, as well as flexibility in work schedule, and may require overtime and weekend work for extended periods to meet client deadlines.
  • Estimate task durations to meet assigned deadlines, and provide daily feedback to field site supervisor and/or direct manager.
  • Build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
  • Advanced fiber optic cable handling, installation, termination, repair, and testing.
  • Generate cable labels and manage all wire listing activities for cable labels per our standards.
  • Track and maintain toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials inventories, and keep clean, orderly, and well-documented.
  • Check in drop-shipped items and maintain on-site materials needed by the crew, working with the PM to assure timely delivery of on-site equipment and materials.
  • Track and maintain personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications, as some states have specific requirements in this area.
  • Maintain daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry, as well as an employee/contractor information log to share with management.
Requirements:
  • High school or GED equivalent, with Associates/Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent experience.
  • AVIXA CTS Certification is preferred, AVIXA CTS-I Certification is highly desired.
  • Valid driver's license and adherence to our insurance requirements.
  • OSHA 30 Certificate required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 5 or more years as an installation technician or related industry experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in a lead capacity.
  • Experienced with LED Video Walls and Builds (Planar, Samsung, Christies, Unilumin, Multi Taction) required.
  • Experienced with leading or managing a team or project required.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts.
  • Possess advanced carpentry and/or installation skills.
  • Proficient use and safety with power tools.
  • Good verbal communication skills and good customer service skills.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
