Job Summary:
The Senior Audio Visual Services Engineer is a key member of the Infrastructure Services team at the University of California, San Francisco. This role is responsible for leading the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of UCSF's Audio Visual (AV) systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide expertise in engineering and technical skills required to ensure seamless operation of AV infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of AV systems and infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance and training to the AV Services team and other Infrastructure Services teams
- Initiate and lead complex AV projects, including customer and stakeholder engagement, documentation, design, and final installation
- Make recommendations on project planning, system design, and installation
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and regulatory requirements to drive continuous innovation
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers on the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience/training in information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, or communications
- 5-7 years of experience working in AV technology, unified communications, information technology, or network operations
- Advanced knowledge of AV technologies, including audio/video signal flow, AV equipment functionality, audio, video, and communications circuitry, AV IT control systems, and industry standards
- Proven experience managing phases of AV projects, including obtaining scope, budget, planning, design, bid preparation, installation, inspection, testing, and final walk-through
- Strong project management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills, with ability to foster positive working relationships and cultivate a strong rapport with colleagues, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist, Certified Technology Specialist - Design, or Certified Technology Specialist - Installation
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Manufacturer Certification (Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc.)
