Job Title: Program Coordinator - WSP

Walla Walla Community College is seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Coordinator to join our team at the Washington State Penitentiary (WSP). As a Program Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Correctional Education program, working closely with students, instructors, and staff to ensure the success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate program operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and data entry.
  • Provide administrative support to instructors and staff, including preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and retention, working closely with instructors and staff to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Corrections and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with program requirements and policies.
  • Assist with program evaluation and assessment, including data collection and analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in a related field, preferably in a correctional setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff who speak limited English.
  • Experience working in a correctional setting, with knowledge of correctional policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of educational programs and services, with experience in program development and implementation.
