Overview

The University of Miami seeks a highly skilled Estate Planning Director to join its Division of Development and Alumni Relations. This key role will be responsible for developing comprehensive strategic prospecting, marketing, and stewardship plans to capture philanthropic support for the university.

Job Description

This position will work closely with the Managing Executive Director of OEGP to develop and implement annual plans of action, focusing on planned and other gifts from alumni and non-alumni individuals. The incumbent will assist in identifying and researching prospective donors, developing cultivation and solicitation strategies, and training gift officers on planned giving.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an active portfolio of prospects to cultivate and solicit planned gifts
  • Identify and research prospective donors, developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Train gift officers on planned giving and assist them in researching prospects
  • Coordinate one-on-one cultivation visits and gift solicitations, implementing stewardship strategies for planned gift donors
  • Work with attorneys and advisors to provide information about planned giving options

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, particularly in planned giving. Strong knowledge of business and management principles, as well as ability to direct and manage department operations, are essential.
