Job Summary

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Asset Protection Specialist. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring the MCCS safety, loss prevention, and risk management programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor MCCS activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and recommending corrective action to address unsafe or unhealthy working conditions.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments in all activities, instructing and advising responsible parties to take corrective action when safety is compromised.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers and other safety equipment to ensure activity compliance with safety program, investigating employee or customer accidents and recommending corrective action.
  • Provide safety and loss prevention training to new employees at orientation and as required, maintaining surveillance throughout designated activities to prevent and detect dishonest acts.
  • Install and operate CCTV cameras, cables, and connectors in activities, checking recordings and resetting as necessary, and recommending site locations.
  • Prepare reports on loss prevention and safety incidents, gathering facts and evidence, and may be required to appear and testify in court or at hearings concerning security cases.
  • Conduct inventories and surveys within MCCS facilities, analyzing inventory losses and conducting inquiries as required, reviewing merchandise to ensure proper pricing, and ensuring proper forms are utilized to document shrinkage and spoilage.
  • Maintain personal identification information in accordance with prescribed regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of information, and handling sensitive information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential, or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure.
  • Provide World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy, assisting customers and communicating positively in a friendly manner, acknowledging customers, smiling, and making eye contact.
  • Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one to two years of experience in safety and loss prevention, with knowledge of electronic security equipment preferred.
  • Good communication and analytical skills in the application of physical security techniques and methods, with the ability to determine necessary actions under various security situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry video equipment up to 30 lbs. independently and equipment over 45 lbs. with assistance, and obtain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to successfully complete and obtain/maintain a favorable background investigation at the ANACI level.
