Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at BPP Orthopaedic Specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical, physical, and psychological status, developing treatment plans, and implementing physician-directed treatment plans.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedic care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also be responsible for providing education and training to clinical staff and operating within the scope of practice outlined by the State of South Carolina.
Responsibilities- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical, physical, and psychological status
- Develop treatment plans individualized to the patient's needs
- Implement physician-directed treatment plans, write orders for medications, treatments, and tests, and provide patient care
- Dispense medication as dictated by the PA's prescriptive privilege, State Law, or as a verbal order under the direction of the supervising/alternate supervising physician
- Provide education and training to clinical staff in the offices
- Operate within the scope of practice outlined by the State of South Carolina
- Education:
- For Physician Assistants: Bachelors Degree required, successful completion of a CAAHEP approved program, and successful completion of a national certifying examination given by NCCPA
- For Nurse Practitioners: Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nursing, graduate of an approved NLN or equivalent nursing program
- Experience:
- Prefer minimum of 3 years work experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Certifications/Licenses:
- For Physician Assistants: Must have/maintain current SC PA licensure
- For Nurse Practitioners: Current unrestricted SC Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with Prescriptive Authority
