Job Summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician Maintenance II Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of communication equipment, ensuring that our systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair communication equipment, including radios, antennas, and other related systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with communication equipment, using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that communication systems are functioning properly and that all necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and advancements in communication systems, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance.
  • Four years' electronic maintenance experience in five or more of the following areas: digital/analog signal processing, communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic), computer systems, wireless access points, radio over IP, DC power supplies, test equipment, RF signal processing, antennas, RF systems, low-voltage AC equipment, primary and secondary power equipment.
  • Must meet the DOD 8570 certifications and requirements for IAT Level 1 (Network+).
  • Must maintain current Safety at Heights climber certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion.
  • Cross-trained and qualified to operate other range systems.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must cease work and notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions.
  • Must complete all assigned training and ensure its entry into their training jacket, to include but not limited to monthly CTTR training assigned in SharePoint, government assigned training in TWMS, and all other non-recurring training as assigned.
  • Work is scheduled by the manager or supervisor based on mission schedule and fleet requirements. Mission support requires shifting of schedules to accommodate fleet readiness and to ensure crew rest.
  • Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated secret security clearance.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
