Messner Reeves LLP, a prominent national law firm, is in search of a seasoned and adept Payroll and Benefits Manager to enhance our operations.

The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be integral in guaranteeing the precision and effectiveness of payroll and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, uphold, and assess payroll systems to ensure prompt and precise payroll processing, including garnishments, taxes, and various deductions.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, as well as trends applicable to all states where employees are located.
  • Oversee comprehensive multi-state payroll for both exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Department to formulate, implement, and uphold policies and procedures related to payroll.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely processing of payroll modifications, encompassing new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify data accuracy and address discrepancies.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, which include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and additional benefits.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile payroll and benefits accounts.
  • Perform any other duties or functions deemed necessary for daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and independent, with a strong initiative and self-motivation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Experience in a law firm is advantageous.
