Director of Development 2

Washington State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development 2 to join our team. As a key member of our advancement team, you will play a critical role in supporting unit fundraising goals by planning and conducting outreach to promote constituent understanding of our unit's activities and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Qualify approximately 50 prospective donors and manage a portfolio of donors
  • Secure 5-15 major gifts or pledges
  • Open a minimum of 10 solicitations
  • Meet a minimum annual fundraising goal of $250,000

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including one year of full-time fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, develop, and steward client/donor relationships
  • Demonstrated project management and relevant event planning experience
  • Demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of ability to plan and execute a fundraising project from conception to realization
  • Experience engaging faculty and translating their research into layman terms for prospective donors
