POSITION SUMMARY

Are you passionate about leveraging your construction knowledge to supervise projects that enhance community well-being? The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection is on the lookout for an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of reclamation efforts across the state.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector, your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of reclamation activities on abandoned mine sites, focusing on construction practices and material quality.
  • Providing essential support to project managers and engineers on various initiatives within the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation.
  • Reviewing and comparing contract documents with actual site conditions to identify and rectify any inconsistencies prior to the commencement of construction.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • This role involves fieldwork across multiple counties in Eastern Pennsylvania.
  • Remote Work: The position allows for telecommuting when not visiting project sites, provided you have a reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Compensation: The starting salary is set at $44,000 annually, subject to tax regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • Two years of experience in construction inspection for large-scale projects, including but not limited to dams, flood control, mine reclamation, and utility installations; or
  • An Associate Degree in relevant fields such as Building Construction Technology or Civil Engineering Technology; or
  • A combination of experience and education that meets the above criteria.

Special Requirement:

  • A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is mandatory for this position.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.
