Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of field and laboratory data.
  • Oversee project scoping, pricing, and proposal development.
  • Plan and lead field investigations and soil laboratory testing, including test borings, test pits, monitoring wells, cone penetrometer testing, and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Provide performance and technical oversight of geotechnical engineering analyses, including assessments of ground improvement and deep foundation alternatives, slope stability analyses, retaining wall design, geosynthetic application designs, pile analyses, load testing, and dredge material management.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through technical report preparation and client discussions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both existing and new clients.
  • Effectively manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Mentor and guide aspiring engineers and technicians.
  • Oversee construction material testing, construction review, and interpretation of construction specifications.
  • Manage fieldwork in collaboration with subcontractors, consultants, and entry-level engineers.
  • Lead adherence to Verdantas safety policies.
  • Create construction drawings utilizing CAD/BIM software.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • A Professional Engineering license is required; PA, NJ, DE preferred.
  • Experience with USACE Baltimore District is preferred.
  • Diverse experience focusing on problem-solving and various geotechnical analyses and challenges.
  • Willingness to travel for projects within southeastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
