About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Verdantas. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical engineering projects and providing technical expertise to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Scoping and Planning: Develop project scopes, prices, and proposals to meet client needs.
  • Geotechnical Engineering Analysis: Conduct field investigations, soil laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation to inform project decisions.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight of geotechnical engineering analysis, including ground improvement and deep foundation alternatives, slope stability analyses, and retaining wall design.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate findings and recommendations to clients through technical reports and discussions.
  • Client Development: Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Project Management: Successfully manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Mentorship: Mentor aspiring engineers and technicians.
  • Construction Oversight: Provide senior oversight of construction material testing, construction review, and interpretation of construction specifications.
  • Fieldwork Management: Manage fieldwork, including working with sub-contractors, consultants, and entry-level engineers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil/geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience: 8 or more years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineering license required; PA, NJ, DE preferred.
  • Skills: Diverse experience with a focus on problem-solving and diverse geotechnical analyses and challenges.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to projects within southeastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
