As a principal-level Cloud Infrastructure Specialist at CGS, you will be expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of the architecture, configuration, and administration of enterprise systems utilizing VMware vSphere 6.5 – 6.7.

Your expertise should encompass cloud technologies and the integration of on-premise virtualization with cloud services, alongside modern approaches to Hyperconverged infrastructure and software-defined storage. This role is critical in supporting the technical solutions for the Executive Office for the U.S. Attorneys (EOUSA) and the U.S. Attorneys' Offices (USAOs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, configure, and deploy virtualization systems and scripting technologies for high availability, including:
  • VMware Center
  • ESXi
  • Horizon View VDI
  • PowerShell
  • PowerCLI
  • Enhance backup/Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations.
  • Create and maintain Windows 10 images for VDI.
  • Evaluate and foresee infrastructure and technology enhancements, recommending suitable actions.
  • Adhere to an SDLC to gather requirements, design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions from inception to completion, utilizing proper change control processes within a large-scale enterprise with multi-deployment phases (Lab, Alpha, Beta, Production).
  • Identify, test, and execute hardware and software configuration updates, ensuring an optimized and stable VMware environment.
  • Conduct work with minimal supervision, exercising significant discretion in determining technical objectives for assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with VMware Horizon View 7.x infrastructure components (including but not limited to vSphere 6.5/6.7, Composer, Unified Access Gateway, App Volumes, User Environment Manager (UEM), and PowerCLI).
  • Significant experience (4+ years) with VMware App Volumes, VMware Horizon View, and VMware vSphere products.
  • Proficient in capturing requirements, documenting detailed system designs, executing system tests, and preparing implementation plans and operational guides.
  • Hands-on experience and expertise in:
  • VMware Horizon View
  • VMware App Volumes
  • VMware User Environment Manager (UEM)
  • OMIVV
  • Dell OME
  • Cisco UCS
  • MS Windows 10
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with software package deployment.
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS, IP, Switching and Routing, Subnets, VPNs, VLAN, firewalls, and Backup and recovery.
  • Ability to generate custom reports using PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
  • Capability to create trending reports for 250 ESXi hosts.
  • Understanding of Cloud infrastructure such as Azure.
  • Good grasp of Hyper Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix, VSAN, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and service-oriented architecture.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles.
  • Ability to develop architectural design documents and presentations.
  • Competence in testing and applying hardware and software updates.
  • Understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience with the following VMware products:
  • vCloud Suite
  • VMware Horizon View
  • vRealize Operations Manager
  • vSAN
  • Experience with government software development policies and procedures.
  • Client-facing communication experience.
  • Federal Agency issued security clearance.
