About the Role
The Senior Quality Control Inspector at Agility Robotics is responsible for ensuring that various mechanical components meet production standards by performing dimensional inspections. This role involves managing the Incoming Inspection Lab, training inspectors, specifying and managing inspection equipment, and applying continuous improvement methods.
About the Work
- Ensures the inspection lab is fully equipped and set up for efficient operation.
- Performs inspections of incoming materials per manufacturing specifications using various mechanical inspection methods, tools, and equipment.
- Reviews drawings and specifications, and recommends improvements for manufacturability, cost, and safety.
- Records, tracks, and reports inspection results and supports corrective actions.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good condition and in calibration.
- Initiates continuous process improvements to support company objectives and plans.
About You
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or a related technical degree, or related vocational training and 2+ years of related experience, or 5+ years of related experience and the ability to demonstrate competency.
- Able to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, including GD&T.
- Highly capable in the use of micrometers, calipers, inside micrometers, bore & pin gages, indicators, squares, protractors, and surface metrology.
- CMM programming/inspection experience; PC-DMIS and/or MicroVu experience a plus.
- Quality Inspector Certification (ASQ CQI) preferred.
- Basic math and the ability to calculate and convert units of measure (metric/US units).
- Ability to write procedures and processes to support new products and suppliers.
- Good problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- A proactive self-starter, able to work independently to complete tasks, and inform a supervisor when support and/or direction is needed.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and team working skills.
- Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to help other teams, and train/mentor other inspectors.
- Able to use MS Office/Google suite; Creo/Solidworks a plus.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and visual acuity to discern and handle small parts.
