Role Description:

As a Yield Optimization Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the deployment of cloud-based yield tools, enhance foundry yield, provide data mining support for fabrication escalations, and conduct training on yield tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to reduce foundry defect density.
  • Examine discrepancies between defect-driven yield and actual ATPG yield to address process and defect challenges impacting yield enhancement.
  • Collaborate with foundry process engineers, test engineers, and technical managers to design experiments aimed at yield improvement.
  • Engage with foundries on WAT and inline monitoring processes.
  • Drive improvements in foundry yield and overall gross margin.
  • Assist in analyzing excursion and RMA data, working closely with foundry managers and quality assurance for lot disposition.
  • Support safe launch data analytics during foundry and fabrication transfers.
  • Calculate D0 yield for new initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of yield analyses, experiments, and corrective measures for ongoing reference and enhancement.
  • Ensure data integrity and loading for foundry projects.
  • Provide consultations on PDF Exensio for product and test teams.
  • Develop custom templates for PDF Exensio as required.

Performance Metrics:

  • Enhance D0 defect density performance across devices.
  • Monitor and report on high-volume workstream yield, addressing low yield issues with foundries weekly.
  • Identify and implement yield improvement initiatives.
  • Support quality assurance in RMA-related fabrication cases.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in electronics, physics, chemistry, or mechatronics.
  • 1-3 years of experience in integrated circuit manufacturing and development.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and technologies.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis tools and techniques, particularly in PDF Exensio Yield tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced data analytical and statistical skills.
