Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Exhaust System Technician to join our team at Day & Zimmermann Group. As an Exhaust System Technician, you will be responsible for operating and overseeing tube process stations and associated vacuum and electronic equipment to manufacture intensifier tube components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain tube process stations and associated vacuum and electronic equipment to ensure efficient production of intensifier tube components.
  • Use hand tools to remove stainless-steel bolts and access finished product from vacuum and electronic equipment.
  • Unload and reload systems without damaging fragile tubes or equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Interpret data from analytical/diagnostics equipment to make informed decisions and achieve quality and yield goals.
  • Follow written procedures and complete assigned work in a timely manner to maintain production schedule and acceptable yields.
  • Utilize hand tools and follow written process procedures for intensifier image tube processing.
  • Monitor data from various meters and sensing devices that measure vacuum, temperature, and torque.
  • Maintain accurate record entry through use of onsite Quality Tracking System (QTS).
  • Define complex equipment issues and quality levels, and inform engineering of any process, component, or equipment deviations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical background, preferably in airplane, shop, or engine-related fields.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to become familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.

Employment Pre-requisites

  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Drug urinalysis.
  • Verified compliance with Executive Order 14042, Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors.
