Position Overview

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking to establish a new office in the Tri-Cities area, driven by the demand from our existing clientele. We are looking for a qualified civil engineer or land surveyor to take on the role of Senior Project Manager and Branch Office Manager. This position will be pivotal in creating the firm’s footprint in the region while engaging in hands-on project management.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead the establishment of the office and oversee its operations.
  • Manage ongoing projects and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our client base.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to maintain the company’s high standards.
  • Mentor and manage staff to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules from proposal through construction.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or land surveying.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Oregon or Washington.
  • At least 6 years of experience in civil engineering project management, particularly in private land development.
  • Strong knowledge of local codes and agency standards.
  • Exceptional client service skills and a proven track record in project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Civil 3D or MicroStation/InRoads.
