Nurse Practitioner Position at University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience seeks a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team of international leaders in advancing the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral disorders.
This position will provide outpatient services in collaboration with a range of professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, other advance practice providers, and social workers, to support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.
Essential Functions- Collect comprehensive histories of new patients and conduct basic physical and psychosocial assessments of individuals and/or families.
- Work with physicians and other clinicians in delivery of care, manage common episodic and chronic illnesses, and administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide counseling and health training, maintain accurate records, and participate in research activities.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse:
- Master's degree in Nursing and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- Three (3) years nursing experience.
Physician Assistant:
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience.
Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse:
- Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health as Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Physician Assistant:
- Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry.
This position requires sitting, repetitive hand motion, hearing, listening, talking, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching overhead, pulling, and pushing.

UC employees have the option to contribute to a state retirement plan (OPERS, STRS) or an alternative retirement plan (ARP).
