Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Technician to join our team at DWFritz. As a key liaison between Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing, you will play a critical role in the development of sophisticated automation machine projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for electrical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of automation equipment per supplied drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Work with industrial PCs, PLCs, servo motion controllers, motors, transducers, and sensors in an industrial automation environment.
  • Responsible for machine start up and testing in conjunction with Electrical and Software Engineers.
  • Assist Electrical Engineers with electrical and electronic controls design and/or parts specifications.
  • Provide feedback regarding electrical design, quality, schedule, conformance standards, and time estimates to complete projects.
Requirements
  • AS degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of recent experience in machine controls and electrical assembly.
  • Experience in PC hardware and software with Windows in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 79, NEC, UL508, and CE required.
  • PLC, C#, or Visual Basic programming preferred.
Work Environment

This position requires working with electrical equipment energized with hazardous voltages. It also requires operating power tools and working on automated equipment in various states of production.

Subject to hazards common to automated industrial machinery. May include domestic/international travel for installation and support.
