Aircraft Maintenance Technician I

Job Overview:
The Vertex Company is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician I to support our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs, replacements, and overhauls of aircraft engines and related components, including the installation and removal of QEC gear and the replacement of FMU and fuel controls.
- Interpret and utilize manufacturer’s publications, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins to assess and execute repairs on malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft engine system components, ensuring efficient removal, replacement, and repair.
- Perform various tasks to maintain aircraft systems in optimal condition.
- May be designated as a CDI as directed by site operations and management.
- Effectively prioritize workload to adhere to maintenance schedules and standards for assigned projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and service H-60 (Series) Power Plant systems and components in alignment with Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 RDT&E Programs.
- Utilize technical expertise to identify equipment malfunctions and restore operational functionality, while evaluating performance and reliability of modifications.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to resolve Power Plant system issues by interpreting relevant manuals and documents.
- May be required to fulfill Phase Shop responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Navy Class 'C' school in powerplants or equivalent experience (3 years of organizational level experience may substitute for formal education).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Organizational Level Power Plant maintenance on similar aircraft.
- At least 3 years of experience with the specific T/M required/Series preferred aircraft, with 2 years within the last 3 years strongly preferred.
- Engine turn qualified and Auxiliary Power Unit designated personnel must possess at least Level II mechanics qualifications.
- Must be prepared to become Plane Captain certified as per the approved certification process.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Current Secret clearance is required, with the ability to maintain it.
- Availability to work any shift is essential.
- Willingness to travel may be necessary.
