Job Overview:

The Vertex Company is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician I to perform essential maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft engines and related systems. This role involves working with moderate complexity components and requires a strong understanding of aviation mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs, replacements, and rebuilds of aircraft engines and associated components, including the installation and removal of QEC gear and FMU.
  • Interpret manufacturer’s documentation, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins to assess the feasibility of repairs or replacements for malfunctioning components.
  • Inspect engines and their components for signs of fluid leaks, cracks, and other forms of damage.
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft engine system components as needed.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the proper servicing of aircraft systems.
  • May obtain certification as a CDI under the direction of site operations and management.
  • Effectively prioritize workload to meet maintenance schedules and standards on assigned projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain and service H-60 (Series) Power Plant systems in support of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 RDT&E Programs, adhering to applicable publications and instructions.
  • Utilize technical knowledge of Power Plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational functionality.
  • Evaluate performance and reliability of prototypes or production modifications, recommending installation specification changes to enhance assembly and maintenance processes.
  • May be required to fill Phase Shop positions as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of Navy Class 'C' school in powerplants or equivalent experience in USMC/USCG.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Organizational Level Power Plant maintenance on similar aircraft.
  • At least 3 years of experience with the specific T/M required/Series preferred aircraft, with 2 years within the last 3 years strongly preferred.
  • Engine turn qualified and Auxiliary Power Unit designated personnel must be at least Level II mechanics.
  • Must be able to obtain Plane Captain certification as per the approved process for applicable T/M/S.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Current Secret clearance is required and must be maintained.
  • Availability to work any shift is essential.
  • Willingness to travel may be necessary.
