Job Summary
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing locations in the Food & Beverage Merchandising Business Unit. This role will provide strategic leadership to 5-7 Operating Units, including manufacturing plants across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Safety and Culture
Establish a culture of operational excellence by prioritizing employee safety and adhering to standardized systems and processes.
Operational ExcellenceApply principles of lean manufacturing to improve key business metrics, including waste elimination, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
Performance OptimizationOptimize Operating Unit performance by maximizing labor efficiency, minimizing scrap, and achieving required product quality.
Collaboration and LeadershipPartner with commercial and R&D staff to identify opportunities for improvement in cost of manufacturing and product performance.
Team DevelopmentDirect the Operating Unit management teams by empowering, enabling, and developing people to work effectively together as teammates.
Qualifications
- Education
A BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
ExperienceA minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations within a highly-respected manufacturing organization is required. Multi-plant management experience is also required.
SkillsHigh-energy with a creative approach to problem-solving, strong analytical skills, and exceptional leadership skills are required.
