Position Overview: Become an integral part of the expanding Avionics FPGA/ASIC team at Collins Aerospace. This role is designed for a highly skilled and driven Electrical (or Computer) Technical Lead, responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of a diverse range of high-performance digital systems that utilize FPGAs and ASICs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define architecture for video and image processing devices to fulfill system requirements.
  • Understand product certification requirements and create DO-254 planning documents for development projects.
  • Engage in ASIC/FPGA digital design and/or verification.
  • Conduct RTL coding and simulation using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Perform ASIC/FPGA verification through inspection, analysis, simulation, and testing methods.
  • Execute static timing analysis, linting analysis, and clock-domain-crossing analysis.
  • Generate DO-254 DAL-A certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH).
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers.

Professional Development: You will gain comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the hardware product life cycle, from requirements through to verification, while applying the company’s engineering processes to deliver high-quality products.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience; or 12 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Experience with video and image processing FPGA or ASIC developments.
  • Proven track record in leading technical projects, including customer interaction and briefing leadership.
  • Familiarity with DO-254 design assurance activities for FPGA and ASIC developments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present work effectively.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl is advantageous.
