Position Overview:

Join RTX as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer within our Communication Products Engineering Division, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing high-performance communication solutions.

Your expertise will be essential in the design and development of cutting-edge power electronics systems, including power supplies, EMI filters, and power converters, which are critical components of sophisticated communication systems utilized in various applications.

Key Responsibilities:


Utilize electrical engineering principles to design, develop, document, verify, and troubleshoot power supply systems for communication applications.

This includes the creation of AC/DC power supplies, EMI filters, and power converters.


Engage in the full lifecycle of circuit card design, which encompasses requirements gathering, schematic design, documentation, simulation and analysis, board stack-up creation, layout coordination, test plan development, root cause analysis, and final product integration.


Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all product lifecycle phases meet established requirements, including support for integration and testing of the final product.

Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

U.S. citizenship is required, as the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with schematic capture tools for electrical circuit design (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Altium, Cadence, etc.)

Proficiency in power supply design across various topologies, from 10 Watts to kilowatts.

Ability to mentor and lead less experienced engineers.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including task management in JIRA, is a plus.
