Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Electrical Engineer to join our team at Shive-Hattery Group, Inc. as a lead electrical engineer on building and site projects. This professional position will perform a variety of duties, including providing electrical expertise on industrial projects, working in a team setting, and producing design documents, contracts, technical drawings, and other items associated with the delivery of electrical design services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Electrical Systems: Design the electrical systems for industrial facilities, including power distribution, LED and custom lighting design, Life Safety Systems, and data/communications.
  • Lead Electrical Design and Production: Lead the electrical design and production efforts of building projects, interacting with clients, and working independently and collaboratively with other electrical team members.
  • Coordinate with Other Disciplines: Coordinate with other disciplines on projects, guide and mentor junior engineers and designers, and prepare specifications and perform code research.
  • Visit Project Sites: Visit project sites to gather information about existing conditions, conduct construction observation duties, and manage time and workload effectively.

Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of lighting, power, and low-voltage systems for buildings and sites.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school, or a degree in Architectural Engineering with an electrical engineering emphasis.
  • Skills: Experience in 3D modeling, Revit is preferred, and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desired.
  • License: Must be in possession of an active professional engineering license, or the ability to obtain a license within a year.
