About the Role

Astronics is seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our team of professionals in the Cabin Electronics / Cabin Power Products Group in Redmond, WA.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, performing, and transitioning new product development programs into initial production. They will coordinate with department heads to develop a cross-functional team focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Resolve technical problems with analytical expertise and originality, coordinate hardware/software design verification testing, and lead the Boeing & Airbus offer ability process.
  • Customer Management: Participate in negotiations on price and delivery, communicate with customer buyers and subcontract managers, and lead problem resolution.
  • New Business: Lead proposal efforts on small, non-complex proposals and support new product or existing product upgrade proposal activities.
  • Contract Management: Complete compliance matrices for the statement of work and other terms and conditions for contracts.
  • Cost/Budget Controls: Create budgets for research projects or development programs.
  • Schedule Control: Create program schedules for the entire new product development life cycle, identify program risks and opportunities, and maintain IRAD files and support budgets.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, challenge and eliminate unnecessary steps, and coordinate the incorporation of lessons learned into engineering design guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.
  • Five (5) or more years of direct experience in Program Management.
  • Demonstrated expertise with engineering tools: MS Project, MS Office, Requirements Management, and Configuration Management.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace or Medical Devices.
  • Experience in bringing newly developed products through the new product introduction process.
  • Experience with DO-160 is a plus.
Eligibility Requirements
  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
