Job Summary: WR is seeking a highly skilled Principal Field Technician OPS to perform technical tasks in the field, production and repair operations, and in-system analysis, testing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites as a technical representative of project, and conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Provide training, guidance, oversight, and performance feedback to junior field representatives and support personnel.
  • Assign work to junior field representatives, technicians, and other support personnel in support of project.
  • Develop proposals and statements of Work.
  • Assist with the technical management of the project.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of systems analysis and equipment readiness certification.
  • Verify functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Maintain and continuously seek improvements of test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Continuously develop skills with new technology and systems relevant to on-going and anticipated projects.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR technical or military training with electronics, electronic equipment, inertial navigation, OR systems engineering.
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience performing work in support of operation and systems analysis of government or Commercial Electronic Systems or Inertial Navigation Equipment, including:
    • Equipment testing
    • Interpreting and evaluating field data
  • Experience in government and/or civilian shipyards (NNSY, NNS, HII, EBC, etc.).

Selection Process: The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of employment history, education and/or certifications, criminal history, driving records, and other records or information related to the candidate's suitability for the position.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: Due to recent federal court action, the target date by which federal contractor employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID has been extended indefinitely. COVID vaccination requirements for those performing work at a customer site and/or who travel as a part of their function will take precedence over guidelines for WR facilities.
