Position Title: QA/UAT Analyst

Company: Apex Systems

Contract Duration: 12+ months (W2 contract)

Overview:

  • This role is with a prominent retail client seeking a candidate with extensive experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to support their Point of Sale (POS) team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing Execution: Implement test scripts to perform Systems Integration, Smoke Testing, and End-to-End transactions in a controlled lab setting.
  • Feedback Gathering: Work closely with end-users to collect insightful feedback regarding software performance and user interface.
  • Defect Identification: Record and communicate any defects found during UAT, providing detailed reproduction steps and impact assessments using Jira.
  • Environment Validation: Ensure that testing environments are correctly configured to mirror production conditions for UAT activities.
  • Regression Testing Support: Participate in regression testing efforts to confirm that fixes and updates do not introduce new issues for users.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Develop and update test cases, scripts, and results in Jira based on specified requirements.
  • Support Escalations: Assist in troubleshooting support escalations to identify root causes.
  • Test Data Management: Maintain test data to address diverse scenarios and guarantee thorough test coverage.
  • Transaction Reconciliation: Conduct daily reconciliation and reporting of accounting transactions.
  • Collaboration: Report to the IT Manager, work alongside other IT Analysts involved in testing, and coordinate with Development Partners, Product Managers, Retail Systems, and Global Shared Services.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) within a software testing context.
  • Comprehension of software testing methodologies, UAT processes, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management systems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present UAT findings to various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in UAT testing.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and methodologies.
  • Capacity to collaborate across multiple teams in a dynamic environment.
