Job Overview

Link Solutions, Inc. is in search of a dedicated Information Assurance Specialist to support our initiatives in safeguarding critical information systems.

The Information Assurance Specialist will be responsible for the planning, coordination, integration, implementation, management, and maintenance of Information Assurance (IA) and Information Technology (IT) solutions in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program. The specialist will collaborate with system owners to prepare and sustain the necessary certification and accreditation documentation. Coordination with system owners, security control assessors, and the IT branch is essential to ensure the security posture of the LAN aligns with current regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Computer Network Defense-Service Provider (CNDSP).
  • Identify and document IA security requirements in operational procedures, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Detect potential security breaches and initiate appropriate reporting actions.
  • Provide guidance on Risk Management Framework, system accreditation, and certification policies.
  • Maintain and enforce security policies and standards across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with IA requirements throughout the organization.
  • Contribute to the development or modification of IA security program plans and requirements.
  • Assist in creating procedures to inform system users of their IA responsibilities prior to granting access to information systems.
  • Integrate IA requirements into the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for relevant systems.
  • Collaborate with system owners to address IAVMs/ICVMs and manage plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms).

Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years with degree or 8+ years without).
  • Experience in Information Assurance functions and familiarity with RMF IT security controls and policies.
  • Proficient in security tools and standards.
  • Understanding of network protocols and architectures.
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with basic scripting or programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Tier 3 Secret Clearance or TS/SCI.
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • Familiarity with Knowledge Management or process development.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Aptitude for simplifying complex information.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Background Investigation Requirement: National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Checks (ANACI).
  • Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • DOD Security Clearance is required (minimum Secret-Level).
  • A DOD Interim Security Clearance (minimum Secret-Level) is acceptable until full clearance is granted.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as well as tasks that require typing and reading from a computer screen. Candidates should have sufficient mobility to perform daily duties efficiently, which may include lifting up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
