- Reviews scheduled menus to determine the types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups to be prepared.
- Prepares food in accordance with anticipated demand.
- Ensures that meals are prepared and served at designated times.
- Consults with supervisors regarding the utilization of leftovers.
- Collaborates with the Operations Manager on modified diets as required.
- Supervises Food Service Aides during the washing, trimming, or preparation of food items.
- Accurately measures and combines ingredients following approved recipes using various kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, and slicers.
- Prepares sauces, soups, stews, casseroles, and desserts that comply with established dietary guidelines.
- Cooks meat, fish, and poultry into individual servings based on menu combinations and dietary orders.
- Tests food during cooking to ensure proper doneness and adjusts heat settings as necessary.
- Enhances the flavor and texture of dishes by adding appropriate ingredients or seasonings.
- Prepares food in accordance with established guidelines and sanitary food handling practices while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and tidy kitchen environment.
- Labels, dates, properly stores, and rotates food items.
