Job Overview

A prominent global organization is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Manager to join their team. This position is critical for ensuring adherence to chemical control and product-related regulations while advocating for legislative matters across the Americas. The successful candidate will coordinate activities with research, technology, manufacturing, and business teams to promote effective product stewardship and global regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the evolution of chemical regulations in the region and collaborate with Business Units and R&D to devise strategies that address potential impacts and leverage opportunities for new product development.
  • Establish and refine processes and systems for Product Stewardship Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) to comply with both new and existing regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary notifications or registration dossiers to regulatory authorities to facilitate compliant marketing of products.
  • Evaluate and communicate the compliance status of products to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities as needed to support ongoing notifications, seek clarifications, or manage inspections.
  • Collaborate with the Global Hazard Communication team to ensure all required documentation (e.g., Material Safety Data Sheets, labels) complies with current regional regulations.
  • Advise the PSRA Director on regional involvement in business teams, trade associations, and advocacy groups.
  • Oversee submissions related to Product Stewardship Compliance through the Product Steward Network.
  • Coordinate compliance activities across multiple product lines.
  • Educate business partners on regulatory requirements impacting products to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the Product Regulatory Compliance aspects of the Management of Change process.
  • Ensure compliance of new products through the AIMS process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, or a related field is required.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the chemical industry, with a preference for experience in coatings or inks.
  • At least 5 years of experience in U.S. and international Chemical Regulatory Compliance is essential. Familiarity with FDA or other chemical control laws is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Experience can be in technical management or as a senior technical specialist in Chemical Regulatory Compliance.
  • Hazard Communication experience is beneficial.
  • Background in organic chemistry is preferred, but candidates with non-organic experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in petrochemicals is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
