POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating significant engineering initiatives and complex projects within our organization.

SALARY GRADE: G05
Compensation Range: $86,016 - $116,120 - $146,226

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, you will manage and direct engineering projects that are of considerable scope and complexity. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure successful project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and provide advanced engineering solutions for large-scale projects and multiple smaller initiatives with intricate features.
  • Conduct comprehensive performance, cost, and scheduling analyses utilizing innovative techniques.
  • Offer specialized technical support and guidance to operational teams.
  • Effectively communicate engineering concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Represent the organization’s interests in complex engineering matters.
  • Identify and resolve significant technical and organizational challenges impacting company objectives.
  • Serve as a mentor and provide training to junior engineers and technical staff.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and regulations, with the ability to perform detailed economic and decision analyses.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying national, state, and local engineering codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
  • Ability to articulate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient in writing technical reports and delivering presentations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Proficient in engineering design software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and project management tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, with a significant focus on project oversight.
  • Exposure to high voltage electrical facilities and construction environments is expected.
